technicians here are perfecting the art of multitasking.
Although they receive initial training
in a variety of jobs, at a home base the technicians are usually
only assigned one job at a time, said Master Sgt. Bill Wnek, the

As the Marines and sailors of Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion,
6th Marines patrol the rugged mountains of south-central Afghanistan,
interspersed among their tri-color desert uniforms are the green
uniforms of the Afghan National Army. Less than three years after the Taliban regime was ousted from
Afghanistan, the joint patrols and combat operations are a vital
instrument in demonstrating to the Afghan people the legitimacy

from 1st Marine Division and the Spirit of
America charity are working together to help
build Iraq's "unbiased" media infrastructure.
According to Lt. Col. John Lutkenhouse,
the division's plans officer for economic
development, the Los Angeles-based charity
donated more than $80,000 in audio and video

quality of life for residents of the Al Anbar
province are currently underway.
A Fallujah Liaison
Team is evaluating contractors to manage a
1,200-man cleanup and restoration contract.
Coalition leaders expect that workforce to
increase as contractors get settled and increase

Task Force 1-37, Iraq, May 18, 2004 — Many of the solders
of the 1st Armored Division’s 1st Battalion, 37th Armor
Regiment, “Bandits,” are
closing in on their first year of deployment during Operation
Iraqi Freedom. And, with this anniversary comes a change in scenery
and missions for the Bandits.
Leaving their forward operating base, known as Bandit Island,
they are relocating to camps southeast of Baghdad to take on
a major role in Operation Rapier Thrust. More |

Iraq, May 15, 2004 — Soldiers from Logistics Support Area Anaconda
celebrated the completion of renovations to a local school by distributing
school supplies to the students Saturday.
The primary school in the village
of Al Nazaha was renovated at a cost of $33,989. The 13th COSCOM
Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil Affairs oversaw the renovations
